Peace and Friendship Farm
About Peace and Friendship Farm
The Peace and Friendship Farm is an urban garden located in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, not far from the University's campus. The farm is run by the Project Love Coalition, a non-profit organization that assists veterans in the area through community building and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math)-based projects. The Peace and Friendship Farm teaches members of the Hill District how to grow healthy food sustainably and promotes social engagement.
Our Partnership
In February 2024, we started our partnership with Kent, the owner of the Peace and Friendship Farm, and the Project Love Coalition. We are currently working with Kent on various projects to upgrade and maintain the farm:
Dig trench and install a 150 foot long Groundhog Barrier
Preparation and installation of the second high tunnel
Winterizing the site
Site Preparation for the installation of the new shed
Connecting the Water Filtration System
Retaining wall design
We are volunteering at the farm every Saturday during the fall semester!
